BLACKPINK’s Lisa beats Taylor Swift's solo artist record for 24-hour views with new track 'LALISA'

South Korean girl group BLACKPINK’s Lisa has officially set a new record with her first single album on Youtube.

Friday was an important day for BLINKS aka fans of BLACKPINK as Lisa finally marked her long due solo debut with her single music video ‘LALISA’ and its title track under the same name. It only took 24 hours for the music video to surpass over 70 million views in real-time.

Soon after this, Youtube confirmed the official view count on Monday with over 73.6 million views during the first 24 hour period of its release. Setting the latest global record for the most amount of views in 24 hours following a release of a solo artist, Lisa’s ‘LALISA’ has now broken International sensation Taylor Swift’s previous record for the same category with her 2019 track ‘ME!’ which recorded 65.2 million views within 24 hours.

Talking about the single album, ‘LALISA’ is a catch hip-hop track with bold and dynamic composition by 24, Bekuh Boom and Teddy. Touted to express the power of Lisa’s name, the title is based on Lisa’s birth name.

‘LALISA’ has now gained a massive amount of views in only a few days of its release. Considering its release on the weekend, the music video has crossed over 100 million on Youtube while also ruling the global digital charts elsewhere. It also made it to the top spot on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 60 different regions right after its release on September 10.

Apart from online sales, reportedly the physical album of Lisa has also garnered 700,000 stock pre-orders only in four days. With this, Lisa has made it to the No1 spot of the weekly album sales charts, as per reports.
